My name is Allison Stroyan, and I’m a senior at Dickinson College pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Russian Language & Literature. I studied abroad at the Russian State University for the Humanities in Moscow, Russia, for the 2016-17 academic year.
I originally started taking Russian in eighth grade because I wanted to be an astronaut. Unfortunately, I have very poor eyesight, but I fortunately grew to love Russian more.
Over the past 7 years, studying Russian has influenced all aspects of my life — from music taste to problem solving. It has taught me that perseverance and communication are key: that any goal is achievable with the right dedication, and any human can be understood with an open mind.
When my nose isn’t buried deep in a Russian grammar book, I can be found hunched over my sketchbook, watching cartoons, or consuming large quantities of pelmeni. Feel free to check out my resume, translations, blog, and more via the links in the footer and header!
